Has your bed had its day?

It’s National Bed Month, the perfect time to consider your sleep and how it is effecting you.

Does it take a while to nod off? Do you wake with aches and pains? Do you still feel tired after your eight hours? If the answer is yes, then it may be time to consider replacing your bed.

Did you know research from The Sleep Council suggests that beds as little as seven years old, may not be supporting and comforting your body and so may need replacing! With a huge range of beds, mattresses, filling and fibres available, it can be hard to know where to start. But we here at Park Furnishers are here to help with our helpful hints and tips for ensuring you get a bed that is right for you:

Bigger is always better - One of the most common sleeping issues is not having enough space, so it is always worth trying to get the biggest size your home and budget will allow.

Plan the room - A bigger bed will allow you and your partner to both sleep comfortably, however it is important that you have space in your room. If you are opting for a larger bed, you may need to factor in storage to account for the space lost.

Try before you buy - a bed is a serious investment, that you don’t want to get wrong. Make sure you lie on a few different beds to really get a feel for it. You should try out each bed for 15 minutes, including your sleeping position, to ensure that you are comfortable.

Shop together - If you share a bed with your partner it is important that you shop for it together. Everyone is different and what might be comfortable for you may not be for your partner. Try out each bed separately and together to make sure you are both comfortable.

Put your back in to it - If you require additional support for your back or joints, this should be taken into consideration. From extra firm mattresses to adjustable bed frames, speak to us in store about how you can make the most out of your sleeping arrangement.

It’s what’s outside that counts - Having a bed that feels amazing is never a bad thing, but creating the perfect sleep environment with a beautiful bed will make waking up a dream! Choose from our wide collection of colours and fabrics for a bed that you love!
