Autumn Discoveries: October Half Term at Wild Place Project

This October half term, Wild Place Project is celebrating the autumn season!

Autumn is a time for amazing colours, the rustle and crunch of leaves underfoot, and tasty treats like apples. It’s also the time of year when lots of animals, from big bears to little squirrels, are busy getting ready for winter!

From 26 October to 3 November, head to Wild Place Project for seasonal half-term fun. Discover nature’s amazing secrets and get into the autumn spirit with lots of exciting activities:

   •   Clamber your way across the big spider’s web – don’t get stuck like a fly!

   •   Hunt for creepy crawlies in the leaf lucky dip

•   Make some woodland art with leaves, pinecones, and everyone’s favourite, mud!

•   Help Cyril the sneaky squirrel find his hidden acorns

•   And more seasonal surprises!

Also don’t miss Bear Wood, home to four European brown bears. Bears spend a large amount of their day eating during autumn, putting on weight before the colder winter months. Wander along the raised walkway to watch Neo, Nilas, Albie and Gemini foraging in their enormous woodland home, just like they would in the wild.

During your adventure, you can also discover cheetahs, zebras, lemurs, meerkats and more, plus lots of places to play. Don’t forget to say hello to Wild Place’s newest arrival, Tico the 20-month-old giraffe – he may be a youngster but he’s already three metres tall!

After a fun-filled day out, head to the Courtyard Café for delicious seasonal treats and warming drinks, perfect for beating the chill.
